The Lion has been always a source of fascination for the Thracian goldsmiths. As a symbol of power and physical strength it was used on almost every type of decoration from horse trappings and appliqués to fine jewelry. In this group of jewelry few primitive images of lions are developed in broaches and bracelets in the tradition of Thracian zoomorphic style with contemporary functionality in mind .The gold repousse is raised in shape, reinforced and set in silver settings decorated with garnets and pearls.
