The technique of raising golden leaf over a matrix was used by Thracian goldsmiths for the creation of large golden decorations for clothing horse trappings and jewelry. A thin golden leaf was hammered to approximately 0.3 thickness and then raised on the bronze matrix in the desired pattern. Then the raised golden decorations were sewn to material or leather, soldered to jewelry or nailed to wood. The versatility of this method and its great potential inspired the designers of ILADESIGN to translate it into contemporary use. In their interpretation of the gold repousse technique the soft pure gold is reinforced so that the pieces could be worn on everyday basis without risk of deformation. Samples of this technique as a finished product are presented in the "Ancient gold " series and in it's pure silver equivalent in "Snow".

Functionality and longer use have always been main goal for the designers of ILADESIGN . In most of their works hand made is the only way to achieve quality and precision. In this work every part of the broach is cut polished and then assembled from fourteen pieces joined together with brass rivets. "Little people" are adjustable and do not 'get tired' thanks to the velum insertions between their joints - the only way to protect the silver and secure longer use at the same time. The finished piece is shown in various postures.
